Since the NFL season started there has been some questionable calls by the replacement refs that are being used in place of striking refs. The replacements have shown on multiple times their incompetence when it comes to officiating in the big leagues.
In the Monday Night game last night, between the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers, they were remarkably bad. In front of a national audience, they made several bad calls, none more than the final play of the game, when they totally blew the call and made the NFL look like the bush league.
Practically everybody that watched the play, saw that the Packers player intercepted the ball, even one of the refs that was standing within a few feet of the play made the interception call. But they went with the call of the other ref that wasn't in as good of a position to see the play. To make matters worse, instead of taking responsibility for the blown call and using these refs, the NFL issued a statement defending the call.
While the NFL uses these replacements and plays hardball with the real refs, they are diminishing the game, and ultimately that will cost them revenue because fans are angry. Some fans are throwing up their hands and getting ready to boycott the NFL, whether or not that happens remains to be seen, but people are definitely going to consider if they should buy tickets to games or their teams gear. It's time for the NFL to end this farce, they are turning the game into a bad joke.
