Microsoft office 2007 powerpoint autosave location free download. PowerPoint Recovery: How to Recover Deleted or Unsaved PowerPoint (2007/2010/2013/2016)

My system crashed while I had an unsaved project in PowerPoint. My PowerPoint is configured to auto-backup every 10 minutes, but when I reopened PowerPoint, no backup files were offered.

I want to search my drive, but since I hadn’t saved the file yet, it doesn’t have a name, and I don’t know and can’t find the extension that PowerPoint uses for it backup files. Can anyone tell me how unsaved backups are stored if at all and what extension I should search for? It should still be a Powerpoint extension. Could be the file was removed. I’d try an undelete tool as the PowerPoint Recovery Toolbox for example. There is a free download version and you can try if this tool be able to recover your files.

PowerPoint Auto save feature is enabled as default and will save every 10 minutes. It will prompt you for a file name the first time the auto save runs. If you are looking for the temp files for PowerPoint then the naming convention is pptxxx. In Office and higher, you have an additional option, built in to the product, called Recover Unsaved Presentations. The Saved Drafts folder will open.

Find your file and double click on it to open. Then save the file. Please mark the reply as an answer if you find it is helpful. When the “Options” multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the “Save” tab. The file just points to the My Documents folder. The file I am hoping to recover was not saved.

I foolishly worked on it for a few hours, and never saved it. Does PowerPoint, like Word, have a built in backup save system? If yes, I’d like to know what extension the backup files use, so I can try to find them.
