Hello so i have this problem with Microsoft preview channel the update name KB wont install in any circumstance. I did try deleting the update but it wont appear in any list of update inside control panel or update history. Was this discussion helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. When there a problem like this use the Reset this PC in settings and keep your personal files, trying to find the problem in beta software can be a pain.

Was this reply helpful? I will leave the insider program until the problem is resolved. I correct WU and the update will disappear. On the other 3, all Windows Professional, KB continually downloaded and failed over and over again.

All major feature updates have always broken my local network. What is the point of tailoring your own system the way you want it only to have microsoft’s updates change everything back to the way they want it As it stands, unless you are a techie, the failed component will ruin SSD drives.

Try downloading the update from the Microsoft Catalog. Be sure to get the one that matches your computer.

Normally, get the x64 for Windows 10, not for Windows Server, nor x86, unless you have an x86 bit Windows 10 installed for some reason. Once you have this file, try installing it offline. This should bring up a boot menu, where you can browse to find Command Prompt. That should be the same as your Windows and Users drive. Usually it will be drive C: in this mode, but sometimes drive letters change. Hopefully, when your usual Windows is not actually running, the update will install successfully.

Sometimes this works when other attempts have repeatedly failed. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.
