Microsoft word 2016 custom dictionary not available free download.Where or where is Word Dictionary for Office 2016?

Had a customer who was having an issue adding a custom dictionary to the Microsoft Word. I found the following article that walked me through what to do. We unchecked the RoamingCustom. Word asked if we were sure we wanted to add this new one. We clicked okay, and everything was working again.

DIC was already there, and enabled. I disabled the roaming dictionary, and then re-enabled it, and now it works! Thanks so much! It solved the problem for me. Thank you. Thank you everyone, deselecting Roaming then selecting again worked for me too. Love the easy fixes! I added a couple of pronouns like my last name, company name, etc. Once I saved it, everything started working correctly. I unchecked RoamingCustom. Instead I unchecked Custom, saved, and then checked it again. Many thanks………………..

I truly thank you! I have added many medical words that I use every day and was disappointed that my dictionary was not working. Unchecking the roaming dictionary was a little unnerving, but I followed the advice here—rechecking it again solved all the problems!

The original post is a a bit vague — unchecked RoamingCustom. Did you re-check RoamingCustom. The custom dictionary is now working. The menu buttons on the right in the Custom Dictionaries box are all greyed out. How do I fix this? Thanks for your help my custom dictionary was there I enabled this unchecked the other one and it now works.

Totally worked. DIC and when it asked of I wanted to replace the custom dictionary I said yes. I have had the same problem in the past, and have it again today. That happened all three times I added a new dictionary quitting Word beforehand each time. I would finish typing and would look up to see the words being typed in slow motion, one letter at a time.

YAY, it finally works… Not sure what caused it but it was pretty annoying. Thank you so much for this. Thanks, very useful. This procedure worked for me. I had migrated from a windows 10 system to my new computer with Windows This fixed the problem. Thanks, Art. Click here to cancel reply. This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. Thank you! Simply unchecked and rechecked RoamingCustom. It worked. Many thanks to all. I also just unchecked and rechecked RoamingCustom.

Worked for me. Thank-you Excellent Thank you! I did what Rachael wrote and now is working! For me simply unchecking then re-selecting the roaming dictionary did the trick Thanks for a solution to this annoying issue! I just changed the default o custom.
