IF you have seen this message multiple times, you should disable this add-in and check to see if an update is available. Do want to disable this add-in? So for the past few days my email or contacts have not indexed and these recent entries are not part of search results.

This seems to have started after I ran CC cleaner a few days ago and cleaned some registry entries. So am pretty sure it cleaned something it should not have and caused a registry conflict that is now causing thsese error messages and disabling indexing.

If you aren’t using macros you can disable the VBA addin, otherwise, try repair. Control panel, Add remove programs.

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. Yeah, I had heard the indexer is not used, but all I can tell you is that after I did a registry clean using cc cleaner, this message started poping up and all indexing on my PC stopped, outlook and the general desktop.

For example, the email notification I got back from this post has vba in it, I am looking at it in my inbox and if I search for vba, the search does not return anything.

Same for recent docs, I have a known word in a recent doc and I type it inot “search programs and files on the start menu and it does not find it. Do you have a backup of the registry?

I thought cccleaner makes a backup – restore it. I don’t recommend registry cleaners because it tends to delete outlook keys – programs that ‘watch’ the registry for changes often undo outlook settings too.

I was able to fix it by right clicking on the entry for Outlook in Programs and Features in the Windows Control Panel, then selecting “Change”, the clicking on “Repair”. Good luck and good-bye Glary. You got that right Diane. I’ve used both Glary and CCleaner in the past. But its been a long time, some lessons have to be relearned I guess.

Diane, Thanks for much for taking the time to reply. The only option I get for MS office professional under add remvoe programs is uninstall.

In reply to mdemers’s post on May 23, Steve Silverwood. Diane — and whomever:. I’ve just run into the same problem, same error message after doing a registry cleanup using a now-deleted tool Glary Utilities which did not offer a backup option before doing the cleanup on the registry.

I need VBA capability in order to run three add-ins to Outlook that I anxiously need to have available: Two tools for searching for duplicates one for emails, one for everything else , and FranklinCovey’s PlanPlus v7. I have gone so far as to completely remove Office from my system, rebooted as required and completed a full reinstall, plus installed all the updates from Windows Update that now apply, all the way through Service Pack 2 for Office I still get the error message when logging into Outlook.

I’m anxiously hoping that someone here can provide a solution, as a search through the forums has only shown that a “repair” is necessary. ANY advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. In reply to Steve Silverwood’s post on January 23, Just for the record, I finally had to do a complete uninstall of Office and reinstall, plus all the updates via Windows Update, to get rid of the error.

Once that was done, I had to reinstall each of the affected add-ins. I know, that smacks of swatting a fly with a sledgehammer, but it’s the only thing I could do that actually fixed the problem. They can create a lot more problems than they’ll ever fix. I have exactly the same problem, having run TotalSystemCare yesterday, encouraged by its claim to be a Microsoft Partner. Is it possible to explain in words of not more than 2 syllables what I can do to regain the ability to search my Outlook folders?
