Cameras provide some of the most important functions in our day-to-day lives. From our phone cameras that can capture memories to a police car video camera that can determine the outcome of an intense court case, cameras help us to capture moments in time. One of the most common cameras you can most likely see all over your community is the CCTV.
These are the cameras that provide the footage often seen on news reports of wanted criminals or missing persons, and they often provide valuable evidence in a court of law. Retail stores, private homes, and government facilities are some of the most common places to find a CCTV camera. In this video, we will take a look at the several different kinds of CCTV cameras.
When it comes to CCTV cameras, there are three distinct, individual styles. There’s the turret dome style, the vandal dome style, and the bullet style camera. Additionally, there are two outlier styles called the PTZ camera and the covert CCTV. Turret dome cameras tend to have a fixed lens, but some of the bigger models can have a vari-focal lens. Turrets are some of the most popular models since they can be ceiling or wall mounted depending on your preference.
